Comisión de la casa de subasta:

Oil on canvas, version based on the Old Testament (Kings I, 3: 16-28). Two mothers appeared before King Solomon with two children, one of them dead. Both disputed the living child, declaring himself the legitimate mother of him. The king ordered that they divide the living child in two and give half to each. The real one, moved, gave up on him. Solomon showed her wisdom by giving her the child, considering her her true mother. The painting represents the moment of greatest dramatic tension in the biblical story, when Solomon stops the execution and thus saves the child’s life. Measurements: 171 x 121, 182 x 136 (framed).
