Acrylic on canvas. Signed and dated on the reverse. Canvas measures: 130 x 97 cm. Manuel Bouzo (Ourense, 1946) studied Architecture at the Superior Technical School of Architecture of Madrid and Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the Complutense University between 1964 and 1970. He participated for the first time in a collective exhibition in 1981 and two years later He does it alone at the Berri Gallery in Ibiza. He studied forging at the School of Applied Arts and Crafts of this city between 1983 and 1985. Developing a work that some have called metaphysical painting of austere color spaces flood his works, paintings like dreams. In 1998 he received a Painting scholarship from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Spanish Academy in Rome and in 2003 the Botín Foundation gave him the opportunity to carry out a project in India, Pooja: the link with the sacred. His work has been acquired by important foundations and museums, especially at the national level, but also in the United States and India, and has been awarded various prizes, among which the one for Artistic Creation of the Community of Madrid in 2005 stands out.
