Oil on canvas. Derived from the Virgen del Sombrero painted by Luis de Morales, ç currently preserved in the Abelló collection, Spain. It was common in painters lands of the Viceroyalty to be inspired by engravings from Europe in their compositions, not only Spanish, but in many cases Flemish.
