Signed and dated 2002, oil on canvas. Canvas measures: 175 x 153 cm. She graduated in Fine Arts from the UCM 1990. In 1986 she presented her work in the First Prize of the VI Moratalaz Plastic Arts Contest, Madrid. The following year she presented her first solo show at the Exhibition Hall of the La Lonja Cultural Center, Madrid. Rosa Maroto (painting, engraving, photography, artist’s books and installations) has followed a line of growth until she has achieved a place among the representative figures of contemporary art. She participates in the CBA Workshops in Madrid; she has done group shows in Madrid, Bologna (Italy), La Paz (Bolivia), Oviedo, Saint Petersburg (Russia) or Argentina; Art Fairs such as Arcale, Salamanca or ESTAMPA, Madrid; and in competitions, obtaining various awards, as the Unique Prize of the VI Contest Popular University of Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid). His individual exhibitions have focused on Madrid, Guadalajara, Oviedo, Toledo and Munich (Germany), to date making twenty individual exhibitions in Spain and Europe. Rosa Maroto’s work is represented in the Bullfighting Museum, in Madrid; National Library of Spain; College of Notaries of Madrid, Ramón Pérez de Ayala Library of Asturias, Oviedo; Popular University of Torrejón de Ardoz; Guadalajara Provincial Council; Museum of Salta in Argentina, Museum of Contemporary Art of Ciudad Real, in the Volpe Stessens Foundation, Buenos Aires in Argentina, Castillo de Larres Drawing Museum.
