Oil on canvas, measurements: 110 x 86 cm, framed measurements: 138 x 115 cm Active in the second half of the 19th century. Painter specialized in portraits and history subjects. He was a correspondent for the Royal Academy of BB.AA. from San Fernando de Madrid in 1874. He resided in Granada, since in 1850 he was appointed director of the Fine Arts School. of said city. He regularly participated in the national BB.AA exhibitions. Madrid, where he was awarded a third class honorable mention in 1867, and at the Royal Academy of Art in London in 1853. He made numerous portraits, including those of the Duke and Duchess of Montpensier among others (SBI in Encyclopedia of the Prado Museum, Madrid, 2006, p. 1167).
