Oil on canvas. Large image of Paradise with two different scenes. Lower scene: at the top of some stairs, a frightened woman asks for mercy from two characters who grab her with the intention of hurting or killing her. These three figures are surrounded by a group of people: soldiers who look impassively at the scene, and people who look curiously at what is happening. In the foreground, a man who falls from the stairs turns his back to us to see the central scene, and a white dog looks at this character sadly. At the top, God the Savior is at the central summit of a great celestial apotheosis, surrounded by saints and angels playing instruments and singing. Attributed to Bernardo Strozzi (1581 – 1644), a painter of Genoese origin who lived in Venice in the second decade of the 17th century. It is in his Venetian phase that it is considered that he would have painted this overwhelming ecclesiastical apotheosis. Measurements without frame: 95 x 66 cm. Framed measurements: 117 x 87 cm.
