ALFRED WISTRÖM (1833-1873). Marine motif with frigates in front of the ruins of Borgholm Castle, signed and dated Alfred Wiström 1865. Oil on canvas, (89 x 119) cm. LITERATURE The painting is mentioned in the Swedish Artist’s Lexicon, part V, on page 709. Alfred Wiström was born in Kalmar County and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts from 1859 to 1865 and in 1866 participated in the Academy’s exhibition of Fine Arts in Stockholm. Among other things, he has painted views of Karlstad, Kalmar and Blekhem in Tjust.
