In some countries he is considered the Patron of doctors. Saint Raphael is one of the three archangels known by name within the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim tradition along with Michael and Gabriel. Archangel Rafael represents the healing and purification of the soul and body. It guides the human being to leave behind all the negative that has accumulated throughout his life and to accept “God’s healing”, as its name indicates. Intercede and advocate so that human beings can free themselves from their past and resume the path of life with a new vision of the future full of hope and regeneration. San Rafael helps the sick in their transition to a new life full of opportunities for spiritual growth. For those people whose path on Earth has come to an end, it gives the opportunity for the healing and purification of the soul in its new stage of existence. San Rafael Arcángel is celebrated on October 24. Reference bibliography: VV.AA.; Ramos Sosa, Rafael (2013). «Sculptors and sculptures in the former Captaincy General of Guatemala (1524 – 1660)».
